There are endless ways in which your society, sports club or other student group can fundraise to help make a positive impact in the community! Your group can do almost anything to raise money for charity and as all fundraising within the SU must go through RAG (Raise and Give) , we can provide anything you need to do it successfully; whether you need volunteers, publicity, collection permits or just a helping hand in running an event.
Where to Start?
First you must make sure that you have completed the mandatory online fundraising training on Moodle and read the Fundraising Toolkit - this will tell you all the support the SU can give you and any guidelines you must follow.
Next, contact su-fundraising@bath.ac.uk and fill out an Event Planner if you're fundraising for a charity. This will inform the SU of your fundraising plans so that we can support you as much as we can.
The SU have an online fundraising platform where you can easily create fundraising pages and collect donations - this is similar to Just Giving or Go Fund Me but without tax, so 100% of the funds you raise will go to you charity!
If you are doing an ongoing fundraiser, or multiple people are fundraising for the same charity, then email su-fundraising@bath.ac.uk to set up a campaign.
To create your own fundraising page, use one of the following links:
For sports clubs, create a fundraisng page here.
For student groups (eg societies, arts groups, volunteering groups), create a fundraising page here.
Things to Remember
The most important thing to remember when fundraising for any charity is that you must use the RAG finance codes correctly to ensure that ALL money (expenses and donations) goes through the RAG finance accounts - if not you could be at risk of breaching charity law! The finance codes are:
Sport Groups - RAG 7SA
Societies - RAG 7SO
Volunteer Groups - RAG 7FE
If there is anything you are unsure about, contact su-fundraising@bath.ac.uk who will be able to help you with any and all of your fundraising ideas.
