The Panel are looking for a regular event run by any SU group, especially one that has been adapted due to feedback and the need for development. The panel will look favourably upon those events that tackled issues such as loneliness and built communities of students coming together over a fun activity.

The Panel are looking for an event organised by an SU group or leaders that was unique, creative and forward thinking. Think about an event that bought people together, was well organised and fun for everyone attending. The event may have utilised new platforms or forgone considerable changes to adapt to member’s feedback.

The Panel are looking for any group or individual who have shown the ability to:  

• Raise awareness for a charity or cause / topic   
• Successfully campaigned to improve the student experience on a local, national or global issue
• Fundraised for an external organisation
•  Made an impact    
• Actively spread a message and educated the student body on a certain topic  
• Provided a platform for members to engage with and champion an agreed cause

The Panel are looking for any group or individual student that has worked to make a change to improve the student experience on local, national or global issue. When nominating, please consider whether the nominee(s) has:

• Clear consideration of the best methods to effect change, including being innovative and creative where appropriate
• Effective engagement with students and relevant stakeholders
• Set clear objectives and desired outcomes for making change
• Demonstration of Impact
• Provided a platform for students from under-represented communities.

The Panel are looking for a group that made all students feel welcome, reflecting the diverse demographics of the student body, for eg nationality, gender, Things to consider would be whether any barriers were removed to enable all students to participate, how the group marketed their offer so as to reach the wider student body or any information sessions that raised awareness of a certain topic.

The Panel are looking for a student that has been involved with the running of one or more groups and/or a student involved with an Executive Committee. When making a nomination, please consider the following criteria:

• The degree to which the student has gone beyond the "call of duty" for their role
• Encouragement of the participation of members and non-members to engage in events and activities
• Information about the impact of the committee member, could include feedback from members, any good news stories, or anything that’s really stood out

• Prompt and effective communication with SU staff     
• Been a dependable, reliable and supportive student who encourages others to shape their community and help them belong

This award recognises a group that has made a strong commitment to running their group sustainably. This could be through making ethical choices when purchasing goods, providing vegan food at events, reducing travel emissions or running awareness or educational events related to sustainability.
