Join the University of Bath UFL team!
Are you passionate about strength training, fitness, and pushing your limits in the gym? Do you love the idea of being part of a strong, supportive gym community, whilst representing your university.
In this groundbreaking league, you’ll face off against other universities in eight thrilling fixtures that cover a wide range of fitness challenges that you will complete in the gym and upload your scores to the exclusive app:
- 1 Rep Max Bench Press: Showcase your upper body strength by lifting the heaviest weight you can manage for one rep.
- 100m Ski Erg: A sprint challenge on the ski ergometer that tests your explosive power and endurance.
- 3 Rep Max Deadlift: Demonstrate your total body strength by lifting the maximum weight you can for three reps.
- 500m Row: A test of your speed and stamina on the rowing machine.
- 1 Mile Run: Challenge your cardiovascular endurance over a mile-long course.
- 5 Rep Max Squat: Prove your lower body strength by squatting the heaviest weight you can for five reps.
- Bodyweight Workout: A high-intensity workout where you perform a series of exercises using only your body weight.
- EMOM Push Press (10 Mins, 5 Rep Max Format): Every Minute On the Minute, complete a set of five push presses every minute over 10 minutes
No matter your fitness level, everyone has a place in the UFL. The inclusive environment created by our community ensures that every effort is valued, and the innovative scoring system created by the UFL takes into account your age, height, weight, and sex assigned at birth levelling the playing field for all.
You do not need to take part in every fixture. Choose the fixtures you want to upload your score in and see where you rank. In April we will then assemble a squad to compete in the UFL 2025 Finals Day.

How the UFL works
The UFL is completely free for all students, staff, and community gym members. You can easily register by clicking here
After registering, download the Archon Fitness League app from the app store. This app will be your hub for everything UFL, including tracking your scores, viewing fixtures, and checking your ranking.
Once you have the app, log into your account to get started.
The UFL season features eight exciting fixtures:
- 1 Rep Max Bench Press
- 100m Ski Erg
- 3 Rep Max Deadlift
- 500m Row
- 1 Mile Run
- 5 Rep Max Squat
- Bodyweight Workout
- EMOM Push Press (10 Mins, 5 Rep Max Format)
Complete these fixtures in the gym, then upload your scores through the app.
After you submit your scores, your squad captain may select you for the official team roster. This gives you the opportunity to contribute to our university’s standing on the UFL leaderboard.
