At UBSC, we are committed to making our sport as sustainable as possible. As sailors, we are keenly aware of the effects of poor practice around our rivers, lakes and oceans.
This is why we have teamed up with The Green Blue to promote sustainable action within our club, and in university sailing as a whole. Having already completed the Platinum Award in 2022 and 2023, this year UBSC will work towards the prestigious Platinum Award for a second time. Its aim is to encourage members to be aware of the delicate environment in which they sail and inspire them to act as advocates for sustainability in their local boating communities. The challenge is a great way to keep us focused as a club around matters of sustainability and to continue to promote sustainable action to our club members.
