The SU has been awarded a Gold Best Bar None Award

The SU Bars and Events team has won a top national award as part of a Home Office approved scheme that promotes responsible management for bars and nightclubs.

The Best Bar None awards scheme is run by the National Union of Students and assesses students’ unions for the range of policies, training and practices that promote a safe and inclusive environment for students.

Students’ Unions across the country participate in the scheme, which has also been adopted by 75 towns and cities across the UK.

The SU is consistently placed highly in the leading students’ union venues and have been national winners three times. The SU Bars and Events team achieved an outstanding score on both the assessment and the mystery shopper, earning us the gold award.

Mike Dalton, Head of Commercial - Venues & Events for The SU, said: “We’re so proud to be awarded gold again, it’s an amazing achievement for us as a team. It’s so great to be recognised for the work we do in making The SU bar and club a really safe place to be”.

“Having a safe and inclusive space where our students can socialise is something that’s really important to the way that we run our business. We work hard on our training for staff and are constantly looking at ways to improve and enhance the experience students’ have whilst sharing our knowledge with others.

Well done to all of the team! To find out more about our SU Bars, visit thesubath.com/bars
