As you may be aware the new COVID-19 variant, Omicron, has been confirmed in the UK. As a result of this, there will be a tightening of restrictions set by the UK Government. We all can play a part in reducing the spread of this variant, protecting ourselves and our loved ones whilst giving some of the fantastic events we have coming up, such as Snowball and Masquerade Ball, the best chance to continue to go ahead.

Please abide by the government guidelines regarding face coverings being required (unless exempt) in shops and on public transport from Tuesday 30 November.

We are also asking you to be considerate of others and to wear a face covering when moving around our SU venues such as the Student Centre, The Plug and Tub, The Edge, and Dartmouth Avenue. There will be facemasks available for you (in case you have forgotten yours) to use when you enter these buildings, and you may be asked by a staff member to put one on.

For our larger events we ask for proof of a COVID passport or negative lateral flow test (LFT). You can pick up LFTs from four sites on campus

If you have a positive lateral flow test, positive PCR test, or any symptoms of COVID-19, you must Isolate, Test and Tell. If you are self-isolating please complete this quick form.

We know this news may cause some anxiety and upset among our student community. Please do reach out the wellbeing team in Student Services if you would like any support. Alternatively, please get in touch with The SU Advice & Support team through emailing suadvice@bath.ac.uk. The advisors offer confidential, independent and non-judgemental information and guidance on a range of issues.
