Bath Model United Nations Society (BathMUN) recently sent a five-member delegation to IE University in Madrid, Spain, where they took part in the country’s largest Model UN conference. The event brought together over 400 delegates from across Europe and marked the second consecutive year BathMUN has sent a delegation to the conference.at a National Conference.
The Bath team was actively involved in the conference with Daniel Aschenbrenner taking a leadership role as Crisis Director on the conference’s organisational team and Kyle Wilkinson also contributing as conference staff.
Rohan Sudhaman and Yitzhak Sheinfield held a roles within the crisis committee, moving through the warring states period of 240BC in Ancient China, while Josh Rogers represented Fox News on the press committee, covering conference events in their style.
Rohan, Crisis Delegate said "Returning to IE for a second year after it became my first conference back in 2023 was a true pleasure. Being able to catch up with people I already knew and meet new delegates is always a highlight of European conferences. As a committee member, I hope Bath continues to take the opportunities provided to us through MUN to explore the world and represent ourselves on debate stages!"

This conference involved a huge amount of pre planning and commitment from all students involved and they certainly did Bath proud. Students were also able to spend some time exploring the historic sites of Madrid which was a great opportunity away from the conference itself.
Their hard work was recognised at the end of the conference as Bath were awarded "Best Small Delegation," given to the highest-performing university delegation with 3–9 students present. BathMUN was the only British university present, apart from Hult Business School London, which took the Best Large Delegation award.
This latest recognition builds on BathMUN’s string of successes. In 2023, the society was awarded the Best Small Delegation award at the prestigious London International Model United Nations (LIMUN) conference. With the IE University award, BathMUN has now achieved best delegation awards at two of Europe’s premier Model UN conferences in both the UK and Spain.
