Training Equipment
The only piece of equipment you will need to buy is the training outfit, called a gi (pronounced gee). You can train for the first few weeks in just a pair of tracksuit trousers and a loose-fitting t-shirt, but will eventually need to buy a proper gi. If you have a white gi from another martial art such as judo you could also wear this, however karate gi's are generally too weak and will rip easily.
The club sells everything you will need, including a gi, for extremely competitive prices - far below what you will find on the highstreet in Bath or on major internet suppliers. We also provide the coloured belts you will need to acquire as you progress within jiu jitsu. As we train under The Jiu Jitsu Foundation, you will be required to wear a badge on your right sleeve for gradings and competitions (again, we will provide these to members).
NOTE: Gis shrink in the wash, so always round up your size when ordering if in doubt.
The club itself owns a large supply of safe training aids, striking pads, kick shields, fist pads and everything else you will need to train safely and effective
Merchandise
Surridge Sports fleeces should be available for purchase later in the year. Any other merchandise suggestions (t-shirts, wristbands, etc) are always welcomed from members.

In order to purchase the BUCS Fee and any Performance Fees, you are required to adhere to the BUCS-Athlete-Code-of-Conduct. (You do not need to purchase the BUCS fee unless you are compeating at Atemi Nationals and then you will be asked to do so.)
