A New Chapter for Bath Hindu Society
At the start of the 2024 academic year, we introduced a new brand identity for Bath Hindu Society. While this rebrand has been shaping our presence for months, we never formally shared the thought process behind it—until now.
This rebrand was a crucial step in modernizing our visual identity, ensuring that it aligns with our mission while also being versatile enough for collaborations with organizations such as The SU Bath, NHSF (UK), the University of Bath, and South Asian groups on campus.
With the opening of the University of Bath’s first-ever Mandir on February 5th, 2025, this feels like the perfect time to highlight how these branding efforts have contributed to this milestone and how they will shape the society’s future.
Why We Rebranded
As Bath Hindu Society grew, we faced challenges in ensuring visual consistency across our platforms and collaborations. Our previous branding lacked flexibility, making co-branding difficult, especially when working with partner organizations.
Our key goals for the rebrand were:
- Consistency – A recognizable identity across all society materials and digital platforms.
- Flexibility – A logo that integrates seamlessly in collaborations.
- Cultural Relevance – A design that reflects Hindu traditions while maintaining a modern look.
Our redesigned logo, featuring a lotus motif and deep blue color palette, symbolizes spiritual growth, unity, and cultural pride. The updated typography ensures a professional yet approachable aesthetic, making it suitable for everything from Instagram posts to official documents.
One of the most significant aspects of this rebrand was ensuring that our Mandir branding fit within this identity, creating a seamless link between Bath Hindu Society and our permanent space for worship on campus.
Mandir Branding: Connecting Tradition & Modernity
The Mandir branding is deeply connected to Bath Hindu Society’s identity, ensuring a consistent look and feel while emphasizing the Mandir’s unique purpose.
We wanted to create a visual link between the Hindu Society’s previous logo and the Mandir, honoring the society’s roots and the logo that has been cherished by many. To achieve this, we incorporated a mandala design into the Mandir’s header and signage. The mandala is a powerful symbol of spiritual harmony and sacred geometry, reinforcing the Mandir as a place of worship, reflection, and community.
By using similar deep blue tones, elegant typography, and symmetrical patterns, we ensured that the Mandir branding feels like a natural extension of the society’s identity rather than a separate entity.
Cohesive Mandir Signage: Informative Yet Culturally Rooted
A cohesive look across Mandir posters and signage was essential—not just for aesthetics, but also to create a welcoming and organized space.
Our Mandir signage includes:
- Door posters with traditional motifs, creating a sacred and inviting entrance.
- Guidance signs reminding visitors to remove their shoes and wash their hands, illustrated with simple, hand-drawn designs that maintain a warm, culturally authentic feel.
By combining practicality with cultural authenticity, these signs help create a familiar and homely atmosphere that resonates with Hindu traditions.

Beyond the Visuals: Keeping Cultural Authenticity Alive
Branding isn’t just about logos—it’s about creating a feeling of belonging. At HinduSoc, we strive to incorporate cultural authenticity into everything we do, from event planning to small details that remind people of home.
A great example of this is our chai cups. If you’ve attended our events, you may have noticed that we serve chai in small glasses just like the ones found in India’s tea stalls.
This small touch adds to the atmosphere of comfort and nostalgia, reinforcing our commitment to keeping traditions alive in a meaningful way
Looking Ahead: A Legacy of Growth & Representation
This rebrand for Bath Hindu Society and the Mandir represents a bold step forward in ensuring faith representation, interfaith collaboration, and cultural engagement at the University of Bath.
Through visual consistency, cultural authenticity, and thoughtful design, we have created a lasting identity that will serve Hindu students for years to come.
With a strong brand foundation, we look forward to:
- Growing our presence
- Strengthening our community
- Ensuring that the Hindu voice on campus remains visible, respected, and celebrated
Whether you’ve been part of HinduSoc for years or are just joining, we hope this new identity makes you feel more connected to our mission and proud to be part of our journey.
