Hey everyone,

As we head into the winter break, I wanted to share something that’s been on my mind—just how far we’ve come as a society. What started as a small idea has turned into something so much bigger than I could have imagined. It’s not just a group anymore; it’s a family. A movement grounded in dharma, community, and the simple joy of finding your people here at Bath.

To keep this going, we’ve mapped out our Top 10 Goals for the year. These aren’t just plans for now—they’re part of a long-term vision for the society to keep us growing, adapting, and building something meaningful together.

  1. Creating a Home Away from Home
At the heart of everything we do is creating a space where everyone feels welcome, supported, and valued. We want our society to feel like a true family, a place where you can always find someone to connect with and feel at home.

  2. Opening a Dedicated Prayer Space
We’re working toward establishing a prayer space on campus, where students and staff can find peace, reflect, and connect with their traditions. It’s an important step in making our community more inclusive and spiritually connected.

  3. Hosting More Regular Social Events
We know how important it is to connect with each other outside of formal events. That’s why we’re focusing on hosting more casual socials throughout the year—whether it’s for a quick chat over chai, movie nights, or just hanging out.

  4. Strengthening Collaboration with South Asian Societies
A big goal for us is to work closely with other South Asian groups on campus. By collaborating, we can create bigger, more inclusive events that celebrate the diverse cultures within our community.

  5. Bonfire Events: A Long-Term Goal
We’ve had some challenges with organizing bonfire events for Dusshera, Lohri, and Choti Diwali, but it’s a long-term goal we’re committed to. We’re excited to overcome these challenges and bring everyone together for a memorable celebration.

  6. Launching Our First Annual Inter-Semester Trip
This year, we’re planning our first-ever inter-semester trip. It’ll be a fantastic chance to explore new places, bond with each other, and make lasting memories. We hope it’ll become a tradition for years to come.

  7. Hosting More Sanskaar Events
We want to deepen our understanding of our traditions and faith through more sanskaar events. These will provide an opportunity for meaningful discussions and help us connect with our religious practices on a deeper level.

  8. Developing Dharmic Sports
As part of our long-term vision, we’re working to incorporate Dharmic sports into our society. Whether it’s traditional games, yoga, or fitness activities, we want to create spaces where culture, fitness, and fun come together.

  9. Expanding Partnerships & Growing Our Social Media
We’re focused on building partnerships with external organizations and growing our social media presence to share our story, engage with the wider community, and bring more opportunities to our society.

  10. Increasing Representation at the University
Representation matters, and we’re committed to making sure our community’s voice is heard at the university. Whether through events, outreach, or visibility, we want our traditions and culture to be acknowledged and celebrated.

Looking back, I never thought we’d get here—with so much engagement and growth. It’s bigger than I ever imagined, and it’s all thanks to you. Your energy, your ideas, and your support have made this society what it is today. Together, we’re building something incredible, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve accomplished so far.

As the winter break kicks off, I hope you all get a chance to relax, spend time with loved ones, and enjoy the festivities. Thank you for being part of this amazing journey—I’m so excited for everything we’ll do together in the new year.

Have an awesome break, and see you soon!

Lots of love,

Adi
