When Stourhead first opened in the 1740s, a magazine described it as ‘a living work of art’. The world-famous landscape garden has at its centrepiece a magnificent lake reflecting classical temples, mystical grottoes, and rare and exotic trees, it offers a day of fresh air and discovery.
You can also discover the magnificent 18th century Palladian 'Stourhead house', Within the house is a significant collection of regency furniture, beautiful artwork and many heritage pieces, all displayed within it's grand, opulent rooms.
Stourhead is one of the National Trust's most iconic estates and is not to be missed.
Coach Pick-up times:
- East Car park (Campus): 10:30
- Corn Street (Bath City Centre): 10:50
Depart Stourhead:
- 16:00 (expected return to Bath at 17:15 - 17:30)
Important information:
- The times listed on the event are from when the coach will leave the campus in the morning, until an approximate arrival back to Bath. You will be asked to arrive 15 minutes prior to departure, for boarding, in order to ensure the coach leaves on time. Arrival times to the destination and back to Bath are subject to traffic, weather and road conditions, which are beyond our control, so we cannot guarantee exact time/s of arrival.
- The trips will go ahead regardless of weather conditions, so please do come prepared. This excludes extreme or dangerous weather, where we would, of course, cancel for your safety. In the event that we cancel the trip, you would be fully refunded.
- If you can no longer attend the trip, you may transfer your ticket to another student. Please ensure you inform us in writing to su-trips@bath.ac.uk at least 24 hours before departure time. Also, quite often we have a waiting list so we may be able to put you in contact with a student waiting for a ticket.
Photography and Filming: We have photographers and film makers at some of our events to capture footage to share online and for use in future promotional materials. If you don't want to be featured, please inform a member of the Community office: su-trips@bath.ac.uk
