The Community Officer represents the student community on issues such as housing, student finances, food provision, wellbeing support, and students' place in the wider community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Equality, Diversity & Inclusion: Coordinating work around equality, diversity, and inclusion, ensuring all students feel they belong at Bath by collaborating with the SU and University.
- Community Representation: Supporting Diversity and Support Groups, representing individual student communities, and working with the Advice and Support team to support groups like Nightline and Student Minds.
- International Students: Representing and supporting international students, working closely with the International Exec.
- Housing: Supports Students in both University and Private Accommodation through advocacy and supporting our Halls Reps.
- Student wellbeing: Advocates and lobbies the University through multiple committees alongside SU Advice and Support
- Local Engagement: Partnering with the SU President to represent students to the local council, ensuring they feel safe and welcomed in Bath.
Overall, the Community Officer advocates for student wellbeing, inclusivity, and their integration into the wider university and local community.
