• Representation: Acting as a representative to the University and on a national scale on various issues such as the student experience and sustainability.
• Opportunities & Accreditation: Coordinating extra-curricular development opportunities and accreditation for students.

Overall, the Activities Officer supports student-led groups (but not sports clubs), promotes sustainability, and enhances opportunities for extracurricular development.

The Community Officer represents the student community on issues such as housing, student finances, food provision, wellbeing support, and students' place in the wider community.

• Equality, Diversity & Inclusion: Coordinating work around equality, diversity, and inclusion, ensuring all students feel they belong at Bath by collaborating with the SU and University.
• Community Representation: Supporting Diversity and Support Groups, representing individual student communities, and working with the Advice and Support team to support groups like Nightline and Student Minds.
• International Students: Representing and supporting international students, working closely with the International Exec.
• Housing: Supports Students in both University and Private Accommodation through advocacy and supporting our Halls Reps.
• Student wellbeing: Advocates and lobbies the University through multiple committees alongside SU Advice and Support
• Local Engagement: Partnering with the SU President to represent students to the local council, ensuring they feel safe and welcomed in Bath.

The Education Officer is primarily responsible for the educational welfare of all undergraduate students. While not essential, an interest in Learning and Teaching at local and national levels helps the post-holder engage with key educational issues across academic disciplines.

• Representation & Networking: Championing the student voice from the perspective of Learning and Teaching at university committees, liaising with Student Leaders, Senior University Staff, and teams across Academic and Professional Services.
• Academic Representation: Overseeing and promoting the academic representation system, chairing Academic Council, attending Academic Exec, and empowering Academic and Faculty Reps to actively contribute to the university community. Through these relationships, the Education Officer identifies significant student issues and advocates for positive change.
• Collaboration & Campaigns: Working closely with the Postgraduate Officer to run educational campaigns, attend key university events, and ensure students feel they are receiving value for money from their degrees.

The Postgraduate Officer is responsible for representing the interests of both Postgraduate Taught Students and Doctoral Students within the Doctoral College. • Academic Representation: Working closely with Postgraduate Taught Academic Reps and Doctoral Reps to use student feedback, debate key topics, and plan campaigns on issues related to learning and teaching.
• Community Building: Developing events to bring postgraduates together and build an active community, such as organising Postgraduate-specific Welcome Week events, running Doctoral Lunches, and working with societies to encourage postgraduate participation.
• Collaboration & Advocacy: Forming partnerships with senior university staff, engaging with professional and academic services, and attending university committees to champion the postgraduate student voice.

The Sport Officer is responsible for the strategic development of sport within the SU, representing students' sporting needs on relevant university committees and to national bodies such as British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS).

• Club Development: Supporting sports clubs in devising and implementing development plans, and working with the Sports Executive Committee to advance student sport as a whole.
• Participation and development: Developing coaching and volunteering opportunities for clubs, while providing recreational and free opportunities for students to stay active.
• Finances: Allocating club budgets and approving expenditure, ensuring clubs have the finances to deliver a wide and engaging offer
• Events and additional sporting opportunities: Supporting the large central SU sport events offer as well as creating new and vibrant opportunities to bring the sporting community together through events and activities.
• Sports Executive committee and Sports Club committee engagement: Maintain strong communication channels with all committees. Engage and update on important matters and gain opinions and make decisions as a collective. 

Overall, the Sport Officer advocates for student sport, ensuring its growth and accessibility at both university and national levels.

The SU President serves as the figurehead of the Students' Union (SU), leading the Officer team and driving work on major student issues, such as the Top 10 priorities. They represent students' interests at senior university meetings and oversee SU communications in collaboration with the Chief Executive and Marketing Manager.

Key responsibilities include:

• Media Oversight: Supporting media groups, attending Media Exec meetings, approving Bath Time print editions, and ensuring content aligns with SU’s charitable objectives.
• Governance & Democracy: Chairing the Board of Trustees, supporting SU strategy implementation, overseeing decision-making bodies like SUmmit, and managing day-to-day SU finances.
• Representation: Representing students internally, addressing concerns about the SU, and sitting on key university committees (e.g., Council, Senate, Finance, Student Experience Advisory Board). They also engage externally with the local council, the Student Community Partnership (SCP), and national bodies like NUS, MPs, and charities.
