Alley Barbers
The Alley Barbers are an a cappella barbershop choir. We welcome all who sing Tenor, Baritone, or Bass to join in our activities, regardless of experience or skill. The Barbers have been said to "always deliver a spot-on performance that combines excellent harmonies with great charisma, humour and wit." We sing in a wide range of venues and settings, from performances with our fellow ChaOS ensembles to awards ceremonies and carol singing at the atmospheric Bath Christmas Market.
In the past, we have sung for the Chancellor in London, as well as at some local events. Our past performances have included many well-known songs, for example, "Mr Sandman," "We're Your Friends" from The Jungle Book, "Baby on Board" from The Simpsons, "Goodnight Sweetheart," "Under the Boardwalk," "Shine On Harvest Moon" and numerous Christmas carols.
Our conductor Tim Greeves started out as a Bath University student in the Alley Barbers and volunteered to take over from the previous conductor, Robin when he retired. We have been running since 1980, making us one of the oldest musical groups at the University.
