We are BVGS: Bath Video Game Society. We organise LAN parties, online gaming, E-sports teams and other gaming events/opportunities for students at the University of Bath.
LANs
LAN events have been a 15-year longstanding tradition for our society, originally created as a way for members to play together when online gaming wasn’t as easily available. We have continued this tradition and we hold 6 LAN events each academic year!
They are multi day in-person events, where we invite all members and their friends to bring their laptops/PCs to a venue on campus and have a massive LAN party.
You can join in on a LAN for as long as you're able to - if you can join us for the whole weekend, or just a day, great - bring along your PC! If you can only drop in for just a few hours, we'll have consoles at the front!

FAQ
When is the LAN?
Our LANs are held over a weekend starting on the Friday evening although during the inter-semester break and at the start of summer we run MEGA LANs for longer than a weekend.
A normal LAN usually starts around 6pm on Friday where we start setting up and then head to the pub. We officially start at 10am on both Saturday and Sunday although it will generally be 12 by the time everyone arrives!
Although the LAN lasts all weekend, there's no requirement to stay for all of it, feel free to turn up and leave when you like.
What do I need to bring?
Feel free to bring your laptop or PC. If you have them, an ethernet cable and an extension lead can come in handy (Although we do provide them typically).
We also offer a limited number of monitors for members' convenience, so don't hesitate to reach out if you'd like to use one of ours.
Can't or don't want to bring your own setup? Don't worry - we have systems freely available to use, like the PS5, Switch, and more, as well as scheduled games that require only a phone or nothing at all!
Need help bringing your massive tower over to campus? Reach out in our Discord server - there's always someone willing to help out.
How do I get there/where is it?
LANs are held on campus and we will share the room on this website before each semester. If you're living on campus you can walk over, trolleys are available to help move your PC. If you're living off campus, arrangements will be made prior to the LAN and posted in our Discord.
What food provisions are there?
We usually do a huge pizza order on Saturday evening, other than that food is available from Fresh, with the opening times available here, or all campus store times here. Feel free to bring your own food as well.
