3...2...1... 3 things you might have missed in November

Meeting Olympians!

Y’all – I know that Bath is a sports uni (technically) but then I see Olympians on campus and go “oh my gosh we have Olympians”. I fangirled. Not as much as Zuber, but fangirled nonetheless, even specifically dressing up in red, white, and blue. They were all such a charm, and I cannot praise them enough for being so open about their journeys – through the good, the bad, and the ugly. Also the absolute flock of media, attention, and general socialising with complete strangers who all wanna hold your medals – I would want to just hide, yet they handled it with such grace – true superstars.

SUmmit

This week was also the launch of the shiny new SUmmit structure and was lovingly chaired by Jackson and Jiji. We only had one Statement of Interest this time round – which happened to be mine! I asked y’all about the current hot topic of engagement monitoring (which is low key burned into the back of my brain right now), roped in Ben Goose (Policies and Programmes Manager - working under our PVCs to deliver projects on the student experience) to give us an update on all he knows, and fielded as many questions as possible at the end of a super long work day.

I want to do a “all you need to know” blog post, video, anything at some point to keep y’all up to date and have something you can keep referring back to – so watch this space!

Meeting with the VC about disabled students provision

DAG and I sat down in a random room in Chancellor’s Building (thank you froom my beloved), and talked about all things disabled student experience – it was sincerely a joy to see such senior investment in the experience of students, and I’ll be keeping y’all updated on progress via the blog!
