Hello everyone! I'm back with an exciting update!
The SU are launching a Safe Taxi Scheme!
We have partnered with V Cars, a local taxi company, to offer you a safe journey home after a night out, without having to pay on the night! This is if you find yourself in a situation where you feel unsafe and haven't got the money to get home.
All you need to do is call V Cars on 01225 464646 quoting "Bath University Safe Taxi Scheme" and the password "Safe Taxi". You will be asked to provide your student number and show your library card when you get in the taxi. After your journey, you don't need to pay on the night, instead, The SU will send you an email asking for repayment within a month of your taxi journey. You then have 14 days to settle the payment and will be signposted to avenues of financial support if needed.
You can use the scheme between 10pm and 5am on any day and the maximum fare is £20. Taxis will be able to take you to a police station, hospital or a student address.
I'm really pleased to be launching this scheme to hopefully give you more, safe options to get home late at night. With the start of the new term and the return to Bath, we want to make sure your nights out in Bath are as safe as possible. This scheme is part of wider work to improve personal safety and river safety for our students.
Please have a look at our website for more info: https://www.thesubath.com/advice/safe-taxi/ and get in touch if you have any questions.
Happy safe taxi-ing!
