Thinking about joining the Killer Bees family?

We have a team of top-class coaches, including Head Coach Pat Snooks, the longest-serving head coach in British American Football, as well as an excellent training and fitness program to get you prepared for gameday. The Killer Bees have been a University club for over 25 years, with many former players going on to play for senior American Football teams across the UK, with some reaching even the GB team. Experienced players or complete beginners are equally welcomed, with many of our current players joining the team without any prior experience, so don't be put off.

Joining the Killer Bees is incredibly simple: either come meet us down at the Sports Fair on the parade during Freshers Week (25/09/24); message the club on any of our social media platforms; or talk to one of our players. Then purchase the membership here and you're done; you can now play American Football for one of the best University teams in the UK.

We will be holding our Taster Session on Thursday 26th September between 1200-1500 on the 3G Training Strip in the STV, where all new players are welcome. Just bring shoes suitable for artificial grass, such as moulds or studs, and wear appropriate sports clothing. You will need to activate the sports pass and bring your library card with you to get onto the pitch.

To get to the 3G Training Strip from campus accommodation: Walk into the STV and walk straight until you see stairs going down. Go down the stairs and through the gate with your library card. Do a U-turn and walk down the corridor with the pictures on your right then take the first right (you should now be facing a corridor with changing rooms on either side). Continue down this hallway to the end and take the last door on your left. Walk along the fence, round the athletics track and continue past both hockey astros, then continue on the path round the second hockey astro and the pitch will be on your left. A map can be found below. Bees will be on hand to point you in the right direction.

After the Taster Session, we'll be holding our full-contact weekend on 5th-6th October, where you will be fully kitted and get a more in-depth experience. Please look at the "Minicamp" tab for more information.

Come along to one of our training sessions or our mini-camp weekend; all you will need is a gum shield and football/ rugby boots. We'll kit you up with everything else.

American football requires a great deal of kit. However, we provide everything!!!

 This includes:

  • Shoulder Pads
  • Girdles (this includes a belt and pads for hips, thighs, coccyx and knees)
  • Lowers
  • Helmets
  • Playing strip

If you have any questions feel free to speak to a member of the team, message our Instagram or email us.
