What We Do

Welcome to DanceSoc, the University of Bath's Dance Society!

We are a large, diverse society offering participation in styles of dance including Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Heels, Tap, Commercial and Hip-Hop. 

Whether you are advanced, intermediate or a beginner, DanceSoc is guaranteed to give you a fun, dynamic and social experience during your time at university.

Examples of DanceSoc activities which YOU can take part in: 

  • Weekly classes for a range of abilities, in a variety of styles.
  • Two annual shows (December and April) which anyone can participate or choreograph in.
  • Competition teams for both intermediate and advanced categories.
  • Attendance at 3 national competitions each year!
  • Regular socials for all members- garenteed to be super fun courtesy of our amazing Social Sec!

DanceSoc is a brilliant, inclusive society, where students can enjoy dancing with friends whilst improving choreography and technical skills.

Reasons to Join Us

  • Maintain or develop a passion for dance and spend time with people who love dance as much as you do!

  • A chance to compete in inter-university dance competitions all throughout England!
  • Our two annual dance shows! (in which YOU can choose to choreograph and dance in!)

Classes

Classes are held every week in the Edge Dance Studio (3rd floor), or sometimes in the Weston Studio (Ground floor).

We have 4 classes a week which vary week to weeek. They are run by Dancesoc students and are a great way to make new friends and are super fun! Classes this year are completely free all year as long as you have bough the Dancesoc membership (only £7)!

Up-to-date timetables for classes will be posted on the Instagram- so don't forget to keep checking or turn on post notifications so you don't miss out!! 

Please note that seperate classes run by the SU on Monday in the dance studio are NOT part of dancesoc and are paid classes.

All of Dancesoc's Mnday classes are held in Weston Theatre on the ground floor of the Edge. All of Dancesoc's Thursday classes are held in the Dance Studio on the 3rd floor of the Edge. 


 

 

Show Dates

Our showcases will be at the edge theatre! As well as competition teams performing there will also be small group dances and solos choerographed by our DanceSoc members! Our shows are held at the Edge theatre on campus.
