Freshers Week Event Manager

Why did you apply to be a FWEM?
I wanted to contribute towards creating fun and exciting events that reflect the diversity of the student body! Being an international student, Freshers’ Week truly sets the tone for our university experience. Keeping this in mind, I aim to make our events as inclusive and welcoming as possible, ensuring that every student feels comfortable and excited to participate!
Favourite SU Memory?
Definitely the street food market! I remember being really surprised that this was something The SU organised throughout the year. It is always exciting on campus and many people get to try different foods.
Drink of Choice?
Orange Jasmine Tea from Papaw in town!
Go to Uni Meal?
Japanese katsu curry! It's definitely my comfort meal and super easy to put together!
Top Tip for Incoming Freshers?
Dive into Freshers’ Week with an open mind and a sense of adventure! Attend as many events as you can, try out new activities, and don’t be shy about introducing yourself to fellow students. I truly urge postgraduate students to also take advantage of this week to connect with peers, explore campus resources, and immerse themselves in the vibrant university community!
What are you most looking forward to about FW24?
It will be such an exciting time of the year! It's very difficult to choose just one thing, as we have planned so many different events for students. However, I am particularly looking forward to seeing everyone move in during the first weekend. It's an exhilarating time for returning and new students, parents, and staff members of the university.
